A clearer place for journals to be seen.
Global South Index helps journals make their publication history visible, understand how they compare with similar journals, and preserve a verifiable snapshot of their record.
Representation
Research should be easier to find regardless of where a journal is published.
Clarity
Every score shows the evidence, the comparison group, and the limits of the data.
Permanence
A saved record contains the journal snapshot and can be independently checked on IPFS.
What the index is, and what it is not.
The index is a transparent visibility record. It uses public scholarly data to help people discover journals and understand the evidence behind a score.
It is not an accreditation body, a replacement for peer review, or a final judgment about the quality of a journal. A score is always read alongside its field, reference size, and confidence.
